Beautiful eyes are yours for the making. You can better enhance the eye area by applying makeup according to your eye shape.

The different eye types consist of round, almond, small, deep set and hooded. It is important to line, prime, color and define your eyes to complement their shape

FOR ROUND EYES, you should use a medium-to dark-toned eyeliner from your iris out along your upper lash line. Do not line your lower lash line. When priming, keep in mind that your eye shadow should match your skin tone. Apply it all over your lid and brow bone. For color, apply a medium-toned shadow from your lash line to eye crease. Define round eyes on the outer one-third of your eyelid by applying a medium to dark eyeshadow.

FOR ALMOND EYES, apply a medium- to dark-toned eyeliner along the outer half of both your upper and lower lash line. Prime the eyes by using a light eyeshadow; apply it all over your lid and brow bone. For color, apply a medium-toned eyeshadow across your eyelid from the inner corner and continue into the crease. You want to define almond eyes by using dark-toned shadow from the top of your lash line to the outer corner of your eye.

FOR SMALL EYES, you should use a medium-toned eyeliner on both your upper and lower lash line beginning at your iris. Make sure not to line your entire lid. When priming, place light eyeshadow all over your eyelid and brow bone. For color, apply medium shadow in your eyelid crease, then blend slightly upward. To define, apply medium- to dark-toned shadow above your iris along the lash bed.

FOR DEEP SET EYES, line along your upper and lower lash line; apply a medium tone the width of your iris. When priming, use a light yet non-frosted eyeshadow all over your eyelid. For color, apply a medium eyeshadow from one corner to the next above crease. Then gently fade the color into your brow bone. When defining, use a medium to dark toned shadow along the outer edge of your iris to the outer corner of your eyelid.

FOR HOODED EYES, line using a darker tone at the outside of your iris. To prime, apply eyeshadow in a color that is close to the color of your skin all over your lid and brow bone. For color, where the natural crease would normally be, apply a medium tone from outer corner to inner corner of your eye. To define, use a darker tone over eyepencil. Then sweep upward at outer corner.
