Actress Halle Berry's winning look is pretty, polished and always picture-perfect
Our panel of judges--photographer Kwaku Alston, stylist to the stars Dawn Haynes, celeb hairstylist Oscar James, celebrity makeup artist Jay Manuel and Access Hollywood cohost Shaun Robinson--praised Halle Berry for her natural-looking makeup. We asked Laura Mohberg, the pro who creates Halle's look for her public appearances and Revlon ads, to tell us how she helps the Oscar winner put her best face forward:
To dazzle by day, Mohberg keeps it simple. Before doing anything else, she dabs Halle's T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) with loose powder, using a large powder puff to pick up excess moisture. With her fingertips or a wet sponge, she applies a sheer foundation all over Halle's face and blends well, then follows with a light sweep of peachy-pink blush on the apples of her cheeks. "To keep powder blush from looking too streaky," she says, "I always use a blush brush, knocking off excess powder before applying to her cheekbones." The look is completed with a smoky nude eye created with golden-orange shades, then "lots of mascara," tailored brows and flesh-toned lip gloss.
For nighttime impact, Mohberg kicks it up a notch. "The lights along the red carpet can wash you out, so I use bolder colors," she says, but adds that Halle's lips remain neutral. "Lighter colors make your lips appear fuller, and Halle likes that."
SHAUN ROBINSON, COHOST, ACCESS HOLLYWOOD
`Halle's makeup amazes me because it's flawless. She never overdoes it. She knows what looks great on her and uses just enough to enhance her natural beauty.'
JAY MANUEL, CELEB MAKEUP ARTIST
`What most impresses me about Halle is her consistency. You never catch her wrong; she's always on point. Her look is classic.'

Oprah Winfrey's latest do is a mane attraction
The judges unanimously agreed that Oprah's new shorter cut is a winner. "We talked about cutting her hair for a while before we actually did it," explains Andre Walker, her longtime stylist. "Oprah doesn't feel she has to have different looks all the time, so we usually find something she likes and then we stick with it. She's practical that way." We asked Walker what's behind Oprah's marvelous style:
For a healthy shine, Walker shampoos and conditions Oprah's hair before styling it with a large-barrel curling iron, "so the hair has a nice bend to it." He applies a lightweight gloss after blow-drying and before curling to help keep her hair's natural volume and fullness under control and to add shine. To enhance the shine, he applies a mild nonperoxide color glaze to her hair every six weeks. "It adds depth and warmth and helps reflect light," Walker says.
For styling without damage, Walker tries not to use too much heat or apply too much tension when he's using blow-dryers and curling irons. The lightweight gloss he uses also acts as a protectant to guard against heat damage. As for upkeep, he relies on regular trims and conditioning.
OSCAR JAMES, CELEBRITY HAIRSTYLIST
`Oprah's hair--the fullness, the body, the shine--is her signature. When I look at her, I never see the style. What I see is incredibly healthy hair that has obviously been pampered. She rules!'
DAWN HAYNES, STYLIST TO THE STARS
`As Black women, we know the damage that heat can cause to our hair. For someone like Oprah, who's so incredibly busy, having a hairstylist who understands maintenance is essential. Oprah's hair--like the woman herself--always shines.'

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith takes first prize for skin that is simply stunning
The leading lady of the Matrix sequels blew the judges away with her flawless complexion. Carolina Balamaci, an aesthetician at Anastasia Beverly Hills in California, shares Jada's secret:
To keep her slightly oily skin in balance, Jada visits the Anastasia salon for a facial at least once a month. The service includes a deep cleansing to remove makeup and pollution that can clog pores and cause breakouts. Depending on the condition of her skin, Jada may come back in two weeks for a microdermabrasion treatment, which resurfaces the skin by removing dead layers, evening skin tone, erasing sun damage and minimizing dark spots, Balamaci explains. For special occasions, Jada opts for an oxygen facial, in which vitamins and minerals are applied to add hydration. "You see the effects immediately," Balamaci says.
To get her glow on at home, Jada turns to Dermalogica, a line of skin-care products, available at high-end spas and salons, that do not contain lanolin, artificial fragrances or mineral oils. "Those ingredients can cause irritation to the skin," says Victoria Thomas, a line spokeswoman. Jada's twice-daily regimen starts with Dermalogica's Dermal Clay Cleanser to remove impurities, followed by the Multi Active Toner, which preps the skin for moisturizing. Active Moist, an oil-free, lightweight moisturizer, is the final step. Twice a week after cleansing, Jada uses the Skin Prep Scrub to mildly exfoliate.
KWAKU ALSTON, PHOTOGRAPHER
`Jada's skin shines as bright as her smile. Whether you see her on the big screen or on the red carpet, she's radiant.'
JAY MANUEL, MAKEUP ARTIST
`I work with Jada often. She's one of the few celebrities who have perfect skin and can go outside without makeup and not feel awkward. She also keeps her routine low-maintenance instead of using many products, which is where many of us go wrong.'

Supermodel Naomi Campbell's awe-inspiring physique sets an example for us all
Runway icon Naomi Campbell was the runaway favorite with all our judges--not merely because she's in great shape but also because she has stayed that way for so many years. Recently Naomi went from working out with weights to boxing with a personal trainer. "She decided she needed a change," says Carlos Ferrer of the Tribeca Sports Center in New York City, who guides the model through an intense hour-long workout three or more times a week. Ferrer filled us in on Naomi's routine:
To burn calories, there's nothing better than boxing, Ferrer says. "It also increases your cardiovascular and physical strength," he says. Naomi hits the heavy and speed bags, works with focus pads, jumps rope and does sit-ups and push-ups. "This routine works the upper body and abdominals to keep them toned and firm," Ferrer says. The two also kickbox to work Naomi's butt area and legendary legs.
if you're trying boxing for the first time, understand that it's not like working out on a treadmill. "Boxing keeps the heart rate constantly going up," Ferrer says. "It's more like interval training in that respect."
OSCAR JAMES, HAIRSTYLIST
`When I think of Naomi's body, the first word that comes to mind is Damn! Dessert must never touch those lips, because there isn't an ounce of fat to be found on her. It ain't fair.'
SHAUN ROBINSON, COHOST, ACCESS HOLLYWOOD
`Naomi has the best legs around. They're toned and firm, but not too muscular. No one can touch her strutting on the catwalk.'
